The wing defender of Moscow's "Spartak" team, Markinyos, commented on changing his game number. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
Now the forward will take the field with the number ten on his back. Markinyos stated that he linked this decision to a promise he made to his late father.
He said, "This promise was to my father, who passed away last year. He wanted to see me wearing the number ten jersey at 'Spartak'," he told the "Match TV" channel.
It is worth noting that Markinyos joined "Spartak" a year ago. He moved to Moscow from Budapest's "Ferencváros" club.
The footballer is 25 years old. Last season, he played in 36 matches for the team, scoring 2 goals and providing 12 assists.
The Brazilian player was named "Spartak's" best player at the end of the season.
