Conversations of over 370 thousand users on the Grok AI platform have been made public. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the 9to5mac publication, these conversations were posted on the Grok website and indexed by search engines. The xAI company has openly provided not only conversations but also images, tables, and other documents uploaded by users.
Links created through the “share” button on Grok were made accessible to search engines, allowing anyone with the link and the entire internet user base to access this information. According to Forbes, users were not given any warning that their conversations and uploaded documents would be publicly accessible.
By clicking the “share” button on the Grok platform, any conversation is posted on the site without warning. Searching for Grok conversations on Google revealed over 370 thousand exchanges between users and the platform.
Among these conversations are topics ranging from simple tweets to descriptions of terrorist activities and hacking cryptocurrency wallets. Forbes’ analysis found that personal questions related to medicine and psychology, as well as names, passwords, and other confidential information, were also disclosed publicly.
Uploaded files and documents were also freely available. Some conversations showed violations of Grok platform’s own policies.
For example, users received detailed instructions on illegal drug manufacturing, creating harmful software, suicide, and even plans to kill Elon Musk. Such incidents are not occurring for the first time.
Previously, some ChatGPT conversations were found via Google, but at that time users had consented to it. However, the situation with Grok is particularly serious and ironic, as Elon Musk last year made unfounded privacy claims regarding cooperation between Apple and OpenAI.
This incident once again highlights the critical importance of protecting user data and privacy issues.
