The first application supporting a video player for Apple CarPlay has appeared — the Sidecar app has created the opportunity to watch videos in the car, according to Pepelac News. This feature is considered a real innovation, taking into account Apple's policy, as the company has strictly limited browsers and video services in the CarPlay system.
The new feature works as follows: the user enters a video or website link into the app via iPhone, after which the content is displayed on the CarPlay interface. However, this capability is only activated when the car is stationary.
The Sidecar app has existed before, but its latest update being approved by Apple without any restrictions is particularly interesting. This is significant news for enthusiasts, as this app officially allows for video playback.
At the same time, users need to be cautious: the browser is not yet perfect, and if this feature changes Apple's policy, it may be revoked soon. The app itself is free, but a payment of $10 (approximately 125,000 soums) is required for the video function.
Sidecar is currently considered the only way to access video officially and simply without hacking methods. However, this feature may unexpectedly disappear.
