If a user adds a correction to a story in the X timeline, users are warned

Users of the social network will now receive personal notifications if they edit posts they have previously shared or commented on. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Company head Elon Musk announced this important change being introduced into the platform's community notes system. The new feature is expected to become another step in combating the spread of misinformation on the platform.
This is reported by influential publications. According to the new system, if a user likes a post, reposts it on their page, or leaves a comment, and later the post undergoes a fact-check with additional context added, the system will automatically send a notification via personal messages.
As emphasized by Elon Musk, this gives users the opportunity to recheck the accuracy of information they have seen. Until now, the main drawback of the system has been the delayed appearance of corrections, which often only occurred after misleading or false posts had already accumulated millions of views and caused their negative impact.
The new notification system aims to return to that audience and convey the truth.
This update not only allows for correcting information but also gives users the chance to recognize their own mistakes. For example, a person who shared a false post in good faith can, upon receiving a notification from the system, learn about their error and either post a clarification or delete the content from their page.
The community notes system existed even before Elon Musk's company acquired the platform, but it became a primary moderation tool during his leadership. The system relies not on centralized editors but on the voluntary consensus of users with diverse perspectives.
However, recent studies have raised serious questions about the system's effectiveness. Research conducted by Spanish experts found that nearly 95% of proposed notes on the platform are never shown to users.
Only about 8% of notes are approved and published, while other analyses suggest that the share of unpublished corrections may be even higher.
Despite this, the company's leadership continues to work on improving the system. Although the exact launch date for the new feature has not yet been announced, it is expected to become available to all users in the near future.
