Higher education contracts are fully exempt from tax

New regulations have been introduced regarding tax benefits on contract payments at higher education institutions in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

According to the decision of the State Tax Committee, now parents are exempt from income tax on contract payments regardless of their child's age. Previously, these benefits applied only to students up to 26 years old or their spouses.

Under the new rule, a parent who pays for their child's education is fully exempt from tax, and the age limit has been removed. According to the Tax Code, contract payments made from individuals' salaries and other incomes are exempt from income tax.

These benefits apply not only to the student but also to the parents and the spouse under 26 years old. Officials emphasize that this change is important for reducing the financial burden on parents, expanding educational opportunities, and encouraging young people to pursue studies.
