By Resolution No. 629 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the “Procedure for Preparing and Conducting the Population and Agricultural Census in Uzbekistan” has been approved. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This Regulation clearly defines the general rules, deadlines of the census process, as well as who will be included or excluded from the count. The census will begin at 00:00 on January 15, 2026, and will continue until February 28, lasting 45 days.
The “cut-off date” for the census is accepted as January 15, and changes occurring after this date, such as babies born after this date, will not be included in the census. However, individuals who pass away after this date will be reflected in the census materials.
During the census process, personal data of respondents and questions related to agricultural activities will be collected. Each person will be counted according to their permanent or temporary place of residence.
The place of residence is understood as the house, apartment, or other dwelling where the person spends most nights. Persons not counted include citizens who have been outside the territory of Uzbekistan for more than one year, employees of foreign diplomatic missions accredited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, staff of international and intergovernmental organizations, and their family members.
Additionally, persons with diplomatic privileges and immunities based on international agreements will also not be included in the census. An accurate and complete census is a reliable source of information for planning social services, infrastructure, and regional development programs.
Data collected on agriculture is of great importance for ensuring food security and properly assessing farming capacities and resource distribution. Thus, the census will start on January 15, 2026, and last for 45 days.
Only cases up to the cut-off date will be included in the census, and the place of residence is accepted as the location where the person spends most nights. Citizens who have been abroad for a long time, employees of accredited foreign missions, and persons with diplomatic immunity will not be counted.
These procedures have been established in a simple and clear manner, and now complete, accurate, and timely information from all parties is expected. Source of information: zamin.uz.
