From 2025, environmental data will be open
In Uzbekistan, a new step will be taken to enhance transparency and public oversight in the field of environmental protection. According to the presidential decree, starting from December 1, 2025, the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change will provide open access to data related to the state monitoring of the natural environment.

This information will be continuously published in electronic databases for the public, allowing citizens to directly access information about the state of the ecology.

What will be included in the open data database?

The following ecologically significant information will be made available to the public:

  • Information about the trees and saplings planted annually under the "Green Space" project;
  • Applications from legal and physical entities submitted to obtain permits for cutting down trees and shrubs;
  • Information about individuals who have carried out illegal excavation works in water bodies.

Annual ecological events

According to the decree, starting from 2025, the following comprehensive events will be held annually:

  • Republic-wide eco-championships under the slogan "New Tree - New Breath";
  • Monthly campaigns and promotional activities on the theme "Our Neighborhood - Waste-Free Area".

Youth will be engaged in ecological activism

Additionally, a movement called "Uzbekistan Eco-Volunteer Students" will be established with the participation of students from higher education institutions. This is expected to ensure active participation of youth in ecological issues.

From the editorial office of Zamin.uz:
These reforms will not only increase the transparency of ecological information but also represent an important stage in shaping eco-culture among citizens, especially the youth. Are you ready to actively participate in this process?
