Visa procedures between Uzbekistan and the USA are expected to ease
The next important initiative aimed at developing tourism by the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, could further expand the country's international openness and travel opportunities. The head of state signed a decree on "measures to sharply increase the flow of tourists and expand the scope of tourist services in 2025-2026."

Visa-free entry for US citizens - negotiations will begin

The decree assigns a specific task to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: to conduct negotiations within three months on creating the possibility of 30-day visa-free travel to Uzbekistan for US citizens. At the same time, it is also planned to reach an agreement on simplifying the process of obtaining an American visa for Uzbekistan citizens. This could strengthen tourism, education, and business ties between the two countries.

Easier travel for neighbors

According to the document, citizens of Russia, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan will now be able to travel to Uzbekistan visa-free using an ID card or "kinder passport." This regime will be valid for up to 30 days and will also provide convenience for children under 16 years old.

Visa-free regime for three more countries

From June 1, 2025, citizens of Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman will also have the opportunity for 30-day visa-free travel. This step is being taken to activate Uzbekistan's tourism relations with the Middle East.

Visa-free regime with China will also be launched

Additionally, starting from June 1, a mutual visa-free travel regime will be implemented between Uzbekistan and China. Citizens of both countries will be able to travel visa-free for up to 30 days.

From the Zamin.uz editorial office:
A new phase is beginning in Uzbekistan's tourism policy. Easing visa procedures means not only attracting foreigners but also providing more opportunities and closer ties with the world for our compatriots. How do you assess the changes in visa regimes? Will these steps truly take Uzbekistan tourism to a "new level"?
