Putin agreed to the 30-day ceasefire proposal from the US and Ukraine
A few days ago, it was reported that a delegation from the US and Ukraine met in Arabia, and Kyiv agreed to a 30-day ceasefire regime. At that time, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that "the ball is now in Russia's court." Today, the Kremlin responded negatively to this proposal. However, later in the evening, Putin, who participated in a press conference with Alexander Lukashenko, agreed to this proposal.

Trump's special envoy arrived in Moscow

US President's special envoy Steven Witkoff has arrived in Moscow. Earlier, it was reported that his plane flew from Doha to Moscow. Trump's envoy also participated in negotiations between HAMAS and Israel in Qatar. In Moscow, Witkoff is expected to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

New York builder and billionaire Witkoff is considered Trump's special envoy for Middle Eastern affairs. There was also a special envoy for US President on Russia and Ukraine issues, but it was not Kit Kellog who came to Moscow, but Steve Witkoff. Earlier, media reported that Kit Kellog was sidelined from negotiations regarding the war.

Kremlin against a 30-day truce

Yuri Ushakov, the foreign policy advisor to the Russian president, who is essentially the main figure in the country's foreign policy, stated that the Kremlin will not accept a temporary truce.

"This is nothing more than giving Ukrainian soldiers a chance to catch their breath. Our goal is not short-term, but to achieve long-term peace. One should not pretend to be striving for peace," Witkoff said in a brief interview with Olga Skabeyeva.

The host of "Russia 1" television asked Putin's advisor if they could interpret this as the Kremlin rejecting the agreement. Ushakov replied that no, President Putin will make a special statement on this matter at the press conference today.

Putin's advisor claims this is not the Kremlin's position, but naturally, he cannot say such things without Putin's permission.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the world has still not received a response from Russia regarding peace, which indicates that Moscow does not want to end the war.

Incidentally, today in Moscow, Putin met with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko. The Russian president likes to consult with his friend Lukashenko before making important decisions. After the meeting, Putin, who participated in a press conference, stated that he agreed to the 30-day ceasefire, but the terms need to be negotiated.
