Zelensky revealed the details of the US agreement with Ukraine and Russia

Volodymyr Zelensky announced that there are certain differences in the agreements reached by the US delegation with representatives of Ukraine and Russia as a result of meetings in Saudi Arabia, Unian reports.

According to the Ukrainian president, two statements will be issued following the meetings in Saudi Arabia: one regarding the results of the agreements between Ukraine and the US, and the other concerning the meeting of the US and Russian delegations. The main difference between these statements is reflected in the fifth clause.

“First of all, we agreed on peace at sea and the free movement of vessels,” Zelensky says.

The Ukrainian delegation discussed the issue of ceasefire in a separate meeting with the US side in the context of strikes on infrastructure.

“We spent a lot of time on this. If we are talking about peace at sea and the free movement of vessels, it also encompasses infrastructure. We will see how this is implemented,” Zelensky says.

The second clause of the agreements includes not striking the energy system. According to this agreement, neither Ukraine nor Russia should carry out such attacks. At the same time, Ukraine has separately submitted a list of objects considered "strategic infrastructure" by Kyiv to the US.

According to Zelensky, Ukraine also raised the issue of protecting civilian infrastructure, but this clause was not included in the statement text.

“However, we agreed on this. The American side generally considers the issue of peace in the air and in energy to also relate to other civilian infrastructure. Nevertheless, if there are no strikes on energy, that in itself is a significant result,” he emphasizes.

The third clause of the agreements pertains to control and monitoring. “We agreed that third parties, besides America, could also be involved. This is not bad. For example, one of the European countries or Turkey. Depending on the situation at sea, we could involve one of the Middle Eastern countries,” Zelensky says.

The fourth clause, according to the US proposal, envisions cooperation in ensuring stable peace.

“Once again, we emphasize that we are ready to act quickly to cease fire unconditionally. The next step will be the measures to achieve stable and just peace,” says the Ukrainian president.

The fifth clause of the agreements differs in Ukraine's statement with the US and in the statement between the United States and Russia.


At the same time, he states that all details regarding this clause are not known, as the Ukrainian side did not participate in the meeting between the US and Russian delegations.


The president emphasizes that even a partial ceasefire in the air and at sea does not include removing obstacles to the transportation of Russian agricultural products.

Additionally, Ukraine is demanding the return of deported and abducted children and the exchange of military and civilian prisoners. “For this reason, it was agreed that there would be two statements. In our statement, the fifth clause is that America will help us return children, military, and civilian prisoners. In Russia, there will be what they agreed upon,” emphasizes the Ukrainian president.
