Britons are ready to write a resignation letter if forced to return to the office full-time
Almost half of the professionals working in Great Britain (48 percent) are ready to write a resignation letter if employers force them to return to the office full-time during the week. This was reported by The Guardian, citing research from the Hays recruiting company.

Among female employees, this figure is even higher, at 58 percent. The research was conducted among companies with more than 8,000 employees.

Hybrid working model remains popular

It has been found that 75 percent of employees prefer a hybrid work schedule. According to this model, employees work part of the week in the office and the rest from home. Currently, 77 percent of companies in Britain are using this model. The most common option is to work three days in the office, which is adopted by 25 percent of companies.

The main reason why 77 percent of professionals want to work more from home is the high transportation costs associated with commuting to the workplace.

Employers are concerned

Sixty-six percent of employers are worried that forcing employees to return to the office full-time could have negative consequences. At the same time, 52 percent of companies have emphasized that the productivity of employees working in the office and those working from home is the same. Nevertheless, 25 percent of the companies participating in the survey have called on employees to come to the office more frequently.

Pem Lindsay-Dann, the operational director of Hays, believes that if employers implement mandatory return to the office, there is a significant risk of losing the best professionals. For this reason, he has advised companies to make the work environment more comfortable for employees.
