The need to reduce food waste is increasing
Currently, one-third of the food produced worldwide does not reach consumers and becomes waste. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

This situation not only causes economic losses but also leads to environmental problems. According to calculations, the food products discarded annually cause damage worth trillions of dollars.

The majority of food waste occurs in restaurants, shopping centers, and households. Often, people prepare more food than needed or immediately throw away expired products, even though most of them are still suitable for consumption.

As experts emphasize, reducing food waste can significantly decrease greenhouse gas emissions. This is because every kilogram of produced but uneaten food consumes a large amount of energy during production, transportation, and storage processes.

In some countries, special programs have been introduced to address this issue. For example, in France, restaurants and stores are required to donate unsold food to charitable organizations.

Similar initiatives are spreading widely in other countries as well. If everyone, from ordinary citizens to entrepreneurs, puts an end to wastefulness, it will benefit not only the economy but also nature.

Every piece of bread is a valuable resource created with labor, water, and energy. Therefore, it is important not to waste food.
