The Russian government has approved a plan to introduce a new digital system aimed at strengthening the control of migration processes. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This system is being developed as a special platform designed to monitor the movement of foreign citizens across the country. According to the plan, the system is to be launched by December 10, 2027.
This was reported by the TASS agency, citing sources within the Cabinet of Ministers. The responsibility for developing and implementing the system has been assigned to an interdepartmental group consisting of representatives from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Federal Security Service, the Ministry of Transport, and the Ministry of Digital Development.
Cooperation with regional administrations is also planned in this process. Within the framework of the new mechanism, the Ministry of Internal Affairs will be granted access to the ticket booking databases of international airlines.
This will automatically identify individuals who are banned from entering the country and is expected to reduce cases related to deportation at border checkpoints. Another important aspect of the plan is the establishment of a biometric identification system for foreign citizens by December 2026.
These measures are aimed at creating a unified digital system that allows real-time monitoring of migration processes. Thus, Russia plans to complete the technical preparation within the next two years to fully account for foreign labor resources and tourists.
It is worth noting that the initial state attempts to systematically register foreign citizens in Russia began in the 17th century. At that time, separate lists of foreigners who came to the Moscow court for service or trade were maintained under the "Posolskiy prikaz".
