Crane collapse in Thailand kills 22 people

A severe tragedy occurred in northeastern Thailand. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
A construction crane fell onto a passenger train, causing the train to derail. According to initial information, 22 people died and more than 80 were injured as a result of the incident.
The incident happened around 09:00 local time in Nakhon Ratchasima province, 230 kilometers northeast of Bangkok. The train was traveling from the capital towards Ubon Ratchathani.
Construction work was being carried out in this area as part of a high-speed railway project. At that moment, the construction crane suddenly collapsed, damaging three carriages.
The greatest damage was recorded in the last two carriages, as most of the victims were in that area. Rescuers arrived at the scene and began evacuating the injured.
The crushed carriages and the risk of further shifting complicated the rescue operations. According to Thailand's health authorities, all passengers have been evacuated.
Among the injured, the youngest child was 1 year old and the oldest was 59 years old. Transport Minister Piphat Ratchakitprakarn announced that an investigation has been launched to thoroughly examine the incident.
The main question is: what caused the crane to collapse? This incident is not a technical malfunction but requires serious discussion of safety issues.
Safety problems at construction sites have long existed in Thailand. According to statistics, more than 4,500 people died or were injured in the construction sector in 2021.
This tragedy once again highlighted the urgent need to pay serious attention to safety issues. Now the main question is: can systematic measures be taken to prevent such incidents?
The results of the investigation are eagerly awaited by the public.
