A strong flood in Sug'd region of Tajikistan washed away bridges and roads
A natural disaster related to heavy flooding occurred on July 11 in the village of Darg, located in Ayni district of Sugd province, Tajikistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

A large flow of mud and stone mixture, moving rapidly from the heights, caused serious damage to several infrastructure facilities in the area in a short period of time. The videos circulating on social media show how powerful the flood flow was, destroying roads and bridges and moving towards residential areas.

The footage captured by local residents clearly demonstrates the force of the disaster and the extent of the damage. The videos showing the natural disaster sparked widespread discussions among internet users and caused great concern among people.

It is suspected that the flood not only complicated the transportation network but also affected rural agricultural areas and residential areas. As of July 13, the responsible state authorities of Tajikistan and the Emergency Committee have not provided official information about casualties or injuries caused by the incident.

The amount of material damage caused is also currently being determined. Specialists are conducting investigation work on-site and taking measures to eliminate the consequences of the flood.

It should be noted that a few days before this incident, the Tajikistan meteorological service had warned the population about the high risk of flooding in mountainous and foothill areas due to expected heavy precipitation and temperature changes. Specialists are urging residents and tourists in mountainous areas to take safety precautions and avoid dangerous areas.

The situation in the area is now under control and recovery efforts are being planned.
