Direct negotiations between Israel and Lebanon to begin

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced that he has made the decision to begin direct negotiations with Lebanon in the near future. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

According to the Prime Minister's official statement, the Lebanese side has repeatedly proposed entering into dialogue with Israel. Therefore, Netanyahu emphasized that he has given clear instructions to the Cabinet of Ministers to organize the negotiations as quickly as possible.

The main goal of this process is to ensure long-term peace in the region and to resolve issues regarding the disarmament of the Hezbollah group. According to information released by the Axios publication, Israeli officials state that the start of negotiations does not automatically mean a ceasefire.

At the same time, a senior Lebanese official stated in an interview with an international news agency that they are in favor of a temporary truce in order to create conditions for comprehensive agreements. The Israeli side noted that the negotiations are planned to be held in Washington next week and that representatives of the Hezbollah group will not participate.

Currently, the situation in the region remains complex. Even though the US and Iran have announced that they have reached an agreement on a ceasefire, Israel continues to strike targets within Lebanese territory.

The Washington administration clarified that this agreement does not apply to Lebanese territory. It should also be remembered that Lebanon currently does not officially recognize the State of Israel.

These negotiations could open a new chapter in relations between the two countries or further escalate the situation. The international community is closely monitoring this process, as the results reached in the coming days will be of decisive importance for the stability of the entire Middle East.

Reaching a compromise between the sides is expected to fundamentally change the security architecture in the region.
