In Italy, new hydrogen-powered electric vehicles will be produced starting in 2028

Stellantis Group plans to start producing a new generation of compact and affordable and vans in Italy, according to Zamin.uz.
As part of this major project, modern and fully electric versions of the legendary Fiat Panda and Citroën 2CV models, which have become icons in the automotive world, are expected to be revived. This information has been shared by international publications and industry experts.
This new initiative is based on a special program by the European Commission, which provides a range of benefits for small electric vehicles not exceeding four meters in length. The established rules offer manufacturers additional opportunities regarding the amount of harmful emissions released into the environment.
This, in turn, will contribute to the further development of the small car segment and the introduction of new types of economical transport to the market. Antonio Filosa, head of Stellantis, noted today that the lack of quality cars priced under fifteen thousand euros in the European market is one of the main problems in the industry.
According to him, the new project is precisely aimed at filling this gap. Furthermore, the main goal of the project is to popularize transport that is convenient for urban conditions, environmentally clean, and affordable for a wide segment of the population.
Production will be launched at the famous Pomigliano plant in Italy. Currently, several mass-market models are being manufactured at this facility, and the plant’s annual capacity allows for the production of up to three hundred thousand vehicles.
The new generation of electric vehicles will be built on a specially developed modern technological platform, ensuring that the cars are both safe and economical.
The mentioned project is expected to represent an important breakthrough not only for the Italian automotive industry but also for the entire European market.
