KGM company has presented the new Musso EV electric pickup

South Korea's KGM automotive company, formerly known as SsangYong, has introduced its new Musso EV electric pickup to the mass market, according to Zamin.uz.
The model differs significantly from conventional work trucks, being designed more for urban lifestyles and active outdoor enthusiasts. As such, it joins the growing segment of electrified utility vehicles in the global market.
According to information from influential publications, the new electric vehicle stands out from other models in the brand's lineup due to its technical foundation and exterior design. One of the key features of the Musso EV model is that it has moved away from the classic ladder-frame construction.
Instead, it is built on the platform of another popular crossover from the automaker. This approach brings the pickup's appearance closer to that of a modern crossover, expands its cargo base, and slightly reduces ground clearance.
As a result, the vehicle lacks the ruggedness typical of traditional pickups, featuring a sleeker and more compact design. Regarding technical capabilities, it is important to note that the new model is equipped with an 80.6 kilowatt-hour lithium-iron-phosphate battery.
According to the manufacturer, a full charge allows the vehicle to travel up to 380 kilometers. In real-world conditions, this figure is expected to be around 320 kilometers.
Notably, the Musso EV is capable of traveling longer distances than electric models from competitors such as Toyota and Isuzu. The vehicle is equipped with a dual-motor system, delivering a total power output equivalent to 234 horsepower.
The maximum torque amounts to 340 units. The Musso EV accelerates from 0 to 10 to 100 km/h acceleration takes 8 seconds.
This indicates that it accelerates faster than its diesel counterparts. This level of power is sufficient for maneuvering in urban traffic and on highways.
Regarding charging, using fast stations, it takes approximately 36 minutes to charge the battery from 10% to 80%. A full charge via a dedicated home unit takes 10 hours.
The vehicle also features technology for powering external devices, allowing the pickup to function as a large battery for operating various electric tools. Currently, the electric pickup market is still forming, and the selection is not very extensive.
Given the growing interest in electric vehicles in Uzbekistan's automotive market in recent years, this innovation from the KGM brand could be appealing to local consumers in the future. Especially considering the versatility of pickups and their suitability for both cargo transport and family trips, such vehicles naturally attract buyer attention.
