
As of January 1, 2025, a total of 138 museums, including their branches, have been confirmed to exist in Uzbekistan according to the State Statistics Committee. This was reported by Upl.uz.
The rich cultural heritage of our country attracts not only the local population but also foreign tourists. In 2024, a total of 4.8 million people visited the museums of our country.
Among them, more than 1.4 million visitors were foreign tourists, indicating a growing international interest in the history and culture of Uzbekistan. The five most visited museums are as follows: Samarkand State Museum-Reserve, with 1,035,325 guests; Registan Ensemble Directorate, with 908,225; State Museum of Glory, with 656,355; Bukhara State Museum-Reserve, with 489,208; and Ichon-Qala State Museum-Reserve, with 456,917 visitors.
These figures demonstrate the increasing international and local significance of our country's cultural heritage.
