Lift project for low-rise buildings in Uzbekistan
A large-scale elevator installation program for four and five-story buildings is being prepared in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Upl.uz. There are 14,637 four-story buildings and 7,541 five-story buildings in the country. This was announced at a press conference held by the Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services on July 8. Ministry representatives spoke about plans developed based on the study of foreign experiences. According to Aziz Khalilov, head of the department, specialists are thoroughly studying international practices for installing elevators in similar buildings, and measures are currently being developed to adapt this experience to Uzbekistan. Deputy Minister Ozoda Juraeva confirmed that the program is being prepared. She also emphasized that this initiative stems from numerous requests and proposals from the population, particularly from individuals with disabilities. However, before installing elevators for low-rise buildings, improving the condition of existing elevators in 9 and 12-story buildings is identified as an important task. Aziz Khalilov stated that 13,798 elevators in 5,491 multi-apartment buildings have been fully registered. As a result of inspections, it was found that 2,001 elevators have reached the end of their service life and need to be replaced urgently, while 382 elevators require repairs. For this purpose, a total of 854.6 billion soums is planned to be allocated from local budgets. Thus, the program will initially focus on the complete replacement of old elevators. Only after that will the project for installing elevators in four and five-story buildings be implemented. This will significantly improve the living conditions of thousands of families across the country. It is worth noting that the practice of installing elevators in old buildings is widespread in many countries. For example, such experience is successfully applied in countries like Austria, Germany, Finland, and Estonia.

Soyuzmultfilm has registered the "Chebubu" brand
Soyuzmultfilm has registered the "Chebubu" brand
The "Soyuzmultfilm" studio has submitted an application to register a new trademark named "Chebubu". This was reported by Upl.uz. RIA Novosti news agency reported this based on the Rospatent database. The application was submitted on June 27, with "Soyuzmultfilm" listed as the applicant. Under the new brand, the studio plans to produce and sell a wide range of products covering class 45 of the international classification of goods and services in the Russian market. This list includes cosmetics, children's products, musical instruments, and office supplies. The registration of the "Chebubu" brand for a wide range of goods indicates "Soyuzmultfilm's" intention to strategically protect this name in the future. Such an approach is common among large media companies, as it creates a basis for protecting the brand from competitors and monetizing it in various formats, including toys, clothing, animated products, and digital goods. The choice of the brand name "Chebubu" is also noteworthy. According to experts, this is an attempt to create an analog or heir of the popular "Labubu" character. Labubu is a monster character with a toothy smile created by Hong Kong designer Kasing Lung, whose collectible figurines, soft keychains, and large plush toys have achieved great success in the Pop Mart store chain in China. If this assumption is correct, "Soyuzmultfilm" aims to capture the popular collectible products segment in the Uzbek market, creating national toys and characters in line with global trends. According to the studio's press service, this year "Soyuzmultfilm" will present a collection of toy pendants featuring its characters. The name "Chebubu" submitted in the application is considered one of the options reviewed to protect products from illegal copies.

Consumption of white bread poses health risks
Consumption of white bread poses health risks
The product that is an integral part of the daily diet of Uzbek families - bread made from white flour - has recently been in the spotlight of nutrition specialists. This was reported by Upl.uz. This bread is soft and widely consumed, considered a staple food for many. However, according to the results of scientific research, its regular consumption can pose significant health risks. Biologist Irina Lyalina, acting head of the Faculty of Natural Sciences at the State University of Education, sees the main problem in the industrial processing technology of the grain. When white flour is produced, the most beneficial parts of the grain, the bran and germ, are removed. These parts contain a large amount of fiber, B vitamins, iron, magnesium, and other trace elements. As a result, the nutritional value of the bread sold in the market is very low. This type of bread is primarily a source of rapidly digestible carbohydrates and is considered devoid of beneficial components. Experts highlight several risk factors associated with the predominance of white bread in the diet. First of all, it is important that its glycemic index is high. Refined flour products cause a sharp increase in blood glucose levels, which stimulates the pancreas and leads to excessive insulin production. Experts emphasize that the regular consumption of such products can lead to the development of insulin resistance, which is a precursor to type 2 diabetes. Additionally, when the body cannot fully convert glucose into energy, the excess is stored in fat tissue, leading to overweight and obesity. The second problem is the gluten content in white bread. For many, this protein is not harmful, but for those with gluten intolerance or sensitivity, white bread can cause stomach and intestinal issues. The third aspect is that the low fiber content in white bread slows down bowel movements and disrupts the balance of microflora. This often leads to problems such as bloating, discomfort, and constipation. Fibers serve as food for beneficial bacteria in the intestines. Furthermore, the addition of additives, preservatives, emulsifiers, and hidden sugars by industrial bread manufacturers to improve product quality also reduces the benefits of the product. Experts recommend whole grain bread, brown bread, and bread with added bran, flaxseed, sunflower, or pumpkin seeds as healthier options. Such breads are rich in vitamins, minerals, and fibers, ensuring the slow digestion of carbohydrates and providing a feeling of fullness for a longer time. Experts emphasize that it is not necessary to completely give up white bread, but it is essential to reduce its share in the diet and choose more beneficial types of bread. This recommendation is particularly important for individuals at high risk of diabetes, those who are overweight, or have gastrointestinal issues. In ancient Rome, the color of bread was a symbol of social status. Fine white flour bread was offered only to wealthy patricians, while the common people consumed dark, whole grain bread. Today, that dark bread is considered more beneficial for health.

Electronic identification has been introduced for domestic flights
Electronic identification has been introduced for domestic flights
Starting from July 1, domestic flights in Uzbekistan have become much more convenient for passengers. This was reported by Upl.uz. Now, it is not necessary to present a physical passport or ID card when checking in for a flight. The government has implemented an electronic identification document system. Before checking in at the airport, it is necessary to access the my.gov.uz website or mobile application, as well as the "Social Card" application, and go to the personal cabinet. The personal information page can be opened, and the electronic identification document can be presented to the registration staff. However, screenshots, photos, and paper copies are not accepted during registration. This system aims to provide convenience for passengers and speed up processes at the airport. Additionally, this innovation helps make travel safer and more efficient. It is important for each passenger to bring their electronic identifier ready. This procedure simplifies and modernizes the use of domestic airline services.

Significant changes have been implemented in the Republic of Uzbekistan to prevent torture and ensure the rights of detained individuals. This was reported by Upl.uz. It was also established that a lawyer may participate during the medical examination. If the detained individual consents, their lawyer has the right to be present during the examination process. This enhances the transparency and reliability of the process. At the end of the mandatory medical examination, a medical certificate in the prescribed form will be issued. If any injuries, wounds, or damage are found on the individual's body during the examination, they will be recorded in accordance with the law, notified to the detainee, and this information will be immediately sent to the prosecutor. The state finance and pension system will be digitized
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, will initiate a new era in the field of public services. This was reported by Upl.uz. The decision signed by the President envisions the complete digitization and automation of state finance and pension systems. This innovation will serve to make financial operations more transparent and efficient. In the next phase, starting from December 1 of this year, the pension system will be fully automated. One of the most anticipated new services is the "My Pension" innovative service. This service will allow citizens to independently calculate their future pension payments based on their work experience and income information. As a result, personal financial planning and transparency will increase. It should be noted that starting from July of this year, pensions for age and disability have been increased in Uzbekistan, reaching 918,000 and 1,010,000 soums, respectively. The introduction of a unified state exam is planned
The introduction of a unified state exam is planned
The introduction of a unified state exam is planned in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Upl.uz. This system will combine the final exams for school graduates, entrance exams to higher education institutions, and subject tests for obtaining certificates. This initiative was proposed recently at a meeting held under the president. Currently, graduates are required to take several different exams, which causes them excessive burden and administrative difficulties. Unifying the exams into a single system will simplify the process, save time, and help reduce the financial expenses of families. The idea of introducing a unified exam system is not being discussed for the first time in Uzbekistan. In April 2020, a proposal was made to conduct a single test consisting of compulsory subjects and elective subjects for faculty admission. In July 2022, the issue of combining the final school certification with higher education entrance exams starting from the 2024/2025 academic year was raised again. These changes aim to create a more effective and fair assessment system in the education sector.
