Niko Williams' transfer to Barcelona has stopped

However, recently the player signed a new ten-year agreement with Athletic Club. Journalists from AS managed to identify the main reason why the player's transfer did not take place.

According to sources, negotiations between Barcelona's sports director Deco and Williams' agent Felix Teinta were proceeding smoothly. However, the Catalans learned that the agent was also discussing improving the player's contract with Athletic.

The delay in negotiations upset Barcelona, and the club directly contacted the player. The Catalans offered Williams to part ways with agent Teinta and work with another agent like Jorge Mendes or Pini Zahavi.

This demand angered Niko and his family. As a result, the player decided to stay at his home club.
