"Barcelona" team decided to strip Marc-André ter Stegen of his captaincy. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

This decision was made jointly by head coach Hans-Dieter Flick and club leaders Deco and Joan Laporta. Ter Stegen is required to undergo surgery on his back and is expected to be unable to play for approximately three months.

Therefore, he was deemed unfit for the team captaincy. At the same time, "Barcelona" expressed dissatisfaction with Ter Stegen's behavior.

The player ignored the club's request to jointly announce the surgery. Additionally, in his social media post, he revealed the recovery timeline before undergoing the surgery.

These circumstances were taken seriously by the club's management, resulting in Ter Stegen being removed from the captaincy. According to the club's future plans, a new captain will be appointed in place of Ter Stegen.
