On Friday, "Spartak" lost 0:3 to the "Baltika" team at home. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
In the 11th minute of the match, the Moscow team was left short-handed as Anton Zabolotniy received a red card for a serious foul. Prominent sports official Roman Oreshchuk does not approve of referee Sergey Karasyov's decision made after reviewing the VAR signal and video replay.
According to Oreshchuk, this was an unfortunate incident, and issuing a red card in such a situation is not correct. He expressed his opinion in an interview with "Match TV": "There was no corner kick, both players were striving for the ball, and the 'Baltika' player reached the ball first."
Oreshchuk also noted that there is now confusion regarding the interpretations of football rules. Next week, the "Spartak" team will host two matches against "Rostov" in the Russian Cup and "Akron" in the Premier League.
These games are considered important for the "red-white" team.
