Rubin's head coach Rashid Rahimov shared his thoughts after the match against Orenburg. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He emphasized that it is natural to have shortcomings in every game, even in victorious matches. He stated that the most important result is, of course, the victory.
According to the coach, the analysis of the game continued a bit in the locker room. He noted that there was some concern before this match, as a very important meeting with Zenit had taken place a few days earlier, which required a lot of strength and emotion from the players.
Nevertheless, the team prepared well, but in some situations, the players were slow to make quick decisions. Technical errors also occurred, but overall the game was not bad.
Rahimov also pointed out that more attention was paid to defender Nizhegorodov in the first half, noting that he did not act correctly in some situations. He was slow to close the open space for the opponent, resulting in opportunities for them.
The goal by team captain Oleg Ivanov was also mentioned. The coach highlighted that the team celebrates every goal equally, but since Ivanov is a respected and experienced player in the team, he receives special respect.
Ivanov mentioned that he aims to score at least once with his head every season, while the coach did not provide a clear opinion on whether to expect more goals from him for now. He added that he would act based on the situation.
Overall, Rashid Rahimov was pleased with the match result, but he also openly stated that there are still aspects that the team needs to work on.
