Lapochkin: The penalty in the Zenit – CSKA match was correctly awarded

Sergey Lapochkin is considered a referee who has previously officiated matches in the Russian Premier League. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

He analyzed the situation in which a penalty was awarded during the match between Zenit and CSKA. While the guests were leading 1:0, referee Artyom Chistyakov awarded an eleven-meter penalty kick to the guests' goal due to a collision between Danil Krugovoy and Gustavo Mantuan.

According to Lapochkin, Chistyakov could not overlook the collision in this situation, as Krugovoy struck the opponent player's leg. "This is not just a simple touch; an action has indeed occurred.

This is considered a foul due to carelessness, but in this case, the referee does not have to show a warning card. Yes, Mantuan exaggerated this situation a bit, but that does not deny that there was a strike on his leg," says Lapochkin.

In the match, Aleksandr Sobolev successfully converted the penalty kick and equalized the score. The game ended with a score of 1:1.

Both Zenit and CSKA have played three matches in the new season, accumulating five points each.
