The goalkeeper of St. Petersburg's "Zenit" team, Aleksandr Kerjakov, emphasized that the likelihood of him stepping onto the field for the Russian national team is very low. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He stated that currently he does not have regular playing practice. According to his coaches, for example, Dzyuba plays regularly, but Kerjakov does not consider himself active in this regard.
While he acknowledges that various situations can arise in life, he indicated that this issue is almost resolved, meaning the opportunity to play for the national team is very slim. It has been announced that the Russian national team will hold two friendly matches at the beginning of September.
On September 4, the team led by Valery Karpin will take the field against the Jordan national team. On September 7, the Russian team will compete against the Qatar national team.
It should be noted that since February 2022, based on the decision of FIFA and UEFA, Russian national teams and clubs have been deprived of the right to participate in international competitions. For this reason, the national team's participation in the international arena is currently limited.
