The names of the main contender clubs for the championship in the current season of the Russian Premier League have been announced. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to Opta Sports analysis, after four rounds, Moscow's CSKA and Lokomotiv clubs are considered the main contenders for the championship. The chances of both teams becoming champions are estimated at nearly 25 percent.
In this ranking, the next position is held by St. Petersburg's Zenit club. At the beginning of the season, Zenit's championship chances were 40 percent, but this figure has now dropped to 21 percent.
Moscow's Spartak club has only a 3 percent chance of winning the championship. After four rounds, Lokomotiv's results in the Russian Premier League are the highest.
The team has won all matches, accumulating a total of 12 points. In the last round, Lokomotiv triumphed over Spartak in the Moscow derby with a score of 4:2.
Thus, Lokomotiv is currently leading the competition table and is regarded as the main contender for the championship. CSKA is also showing high results, securing a place among the leaders.
Zenit and Spartak, on the other hand, are positioned lower in the ranking.
