VAR system has been used in Russian football for several years, but controversial situations continue to persist. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
Such controversial situations are analyzed by referee expert Alexander Bobrov. He examines each contentious case and keeps a record of referees' mistakes.
This record only takes into account errors that were not corrected after VAR intervention. In the last season, Sport-Ekspress published the table of referees' mistakes compiled by Bobrov.
According to this table, the most mistakes were recorded in favor of "Spartak." Referees assisted this team three times, but they also made mistakes against "Spartak" twice.
Looking at the overall balance, the "Rostov" team ranks first in the standings. They have two errors in their favor and none against them.
"Spartak," "Orenburg," "Dinamo," "Rubin," "Sochi," and CSKA teams occupy the next positions with a +1 statistic. The teams that suffered the most from referees' mistakes are "Zenit" and "Baltika."
"Zenit" had no errors in their favor, but two mistakes were recorded against them. "Baltika," on the other hand, has a -2 statistic with two errors in their favor and four against them.
Thus, despite the use of the VAR system, refereeing mistakes remain one of the main topics in football discussions.
