French defender Natan Gassama from Kaliningrad's "Baltika" club advised Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov to stay at "PSG". This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
It was recently revealed that the Paris club has decided not to extend the contract of the right-back Gianluigi Donnarumma, and he is preparing to leave the club. In an interview with Metaratings, Gassama said he knows Safonov well and has played against him while facing the "Krasnodar" club.
He emphasized that "PSG" is a very good club and mentioned that Safonov might be given the opportunity to play there. Additionally, Gassama noted that although Safonov's new competitor, Luca Chevalier, is a very good player, he has not yet reached a high level.
Earlier, reports circulated that the "PSG" management offered Safonov to leave the club because he was not considered the main goalkeeper, but the Russian player rejected this. For this reason, Gassama stressed that staying at "PSG" would be the right decision for him.
