Sergey Ryjikov, the former goalkeeper of Kazan's "Rubin" team, who is currently active at Kaliningrad's "Baltika" club, provided information about his recent conversation with coach Kurban Berdyev. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
Ryjikov emphasized that they do not meet often. "During one of the matches of the 'Rubin' team, at the opening ceremony of the stand named after him, I managed to have tea and talk with Berdyev for two hours.
I think he is well-prepared physically and mentally, so he will continue his career," Ryjikov said in an interview with "RB Sport." Berdyev managed "Rubin" from 2001 to 2013 and from 2017 to 2019.
Under his leadership, the team won the Russian championship twice. Later, he worked with several teams, but did not stay long.
Last year, he became the coach of the "Turan" club in Azerbaijan.
