The former sports director of the Orenburg football club, Dmitriy Andreyev, expressed his opinion about the team's stay in the Russian Premier League (RPL). This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He emphasized that the inclusion of the 'Torpedo' team instead of 'Orenburg' is the right decision. This, in turn, will have a positive impact on the country's football.
Andreyev stated that such situations should not be dealt with. According to him, major clubs, such as 'Juventus', have suffered from similar problems.
He also expressed hope that the team would not repeat its results from the previous season. Last season, 'Orenburg' finished in 15th place and was in the relegation zone of the RPL.
It should be noted that the Moscow 'Torpedo' club was expelled from the RPL due to the management's offer of bribes to referees. As a result, the team was allowed to participate in the PARI First League matches.
These events once again highlighted the importance of integrity and fairness in Russian football.
