Football coach Sergey Balakhnin expressed his opinion about the controversy surrounding the "Torpedo" club that arose during the summer break. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, the club's past achievements and traditions can never justify violations of the law. As Balakhnin emphasized, if the law has been broken, there must also be accountability.
In an interview with "RB Sport," he stated this. The coach also noted that such punitive measures would help prevent similar unpleasant situations in the future and are crucial in cleaning Russian football from corruption.
It is worth noting that in July of this year, the Moscow "Torpedo" team was expelled from the Premier League by the Russian Football Union for participating in fixed matches. In the next season, this team will participate in the second division of the Russian championship, namely within the PARI League.
This decision is being evaluated as an important step aimed at ensuring fairness and transparency in the football sector.
