It is necessary to increase the limit on foreign football players in Russia. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
This opinion was expressed by Yuri Nagornix, the chairman of the management board of the "Lokomotiv" team from Moscow. According to him, the "6+5" limit set before the World Cup is considered the most optimal.
According to current rules, Premier League clubs cannot register more than 13 foreign players in their applications for the season, and there cannot be more than eight legionnaires on the field at the same time. Last season, the "Lokomotiv" team ranked sixth in the Russian championship standings.
These ideas are expected to have a positive impact on the development of football and create more opportunities for local players. Additionally, limiting the number of foreign players will help improve the level of the national team.
For this reason, it is important to take decisive measures to reduce the number of foreigners in the field of football.
