Bundesliga and the Second Bundesliga set a new record for total attendance based on the results of the past season. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
This was announced by the organization that manages these competitions – DFL. According to DFL, the number of tickets sold by 36 professional clubs reached a total of 20,983,964.
The average number of spectators per game was 34,288. The number of tickets sold for the Bundesliga itself was around 11 million.
The average number of attendees for the Second Bundesliga was 30,493, which also constitutes a new record. With clubs like "Köln" and "Hamburg" having a strong fan base, it seems challenging for these figures to increase in the new season.
According to DFL CEO Mark Lentz, high safety standards in stadiums and reasonable ticket prices positively influenced attendance. Thus, interest in Bundesliga and Second Bundesliga football competitions and the number of spectators continue to grow.
