
On August 22, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, made a working visit to Turkmenistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This visit was carried out at the official invitation of the Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, according to the President's press service. At the airport in Turkmenbashi city, the head of state was officially welcomed by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Nokerguli Ataguliyev, along with other high-ranking officials of the country.
Special attention was paid to the traditions of mutual respect and sincerity during the ceremony. Shavkat Mirziyoyev is participating in trilateral negotiations held in Turkmenistan in the format "Azerbaijan – Turkmenistan – Uzbekistan".
Additionally, bilateral productive meetings are also planned. The negotiations are mainly aimed at developing trade and economic relations, improving transport and communication infrastructure, expanding cooperation in the energy sector, and strengthening humanitarian ties.
Within the framework of events held in the Avaza national tourist zone, a number of joint documents are expected to be signed. According to experts, these documents will bring the strategic partnership between the two countries to a new level and strengthen regional stability.
During the meetings, the heads of state will exchange views on foreign policy, regional security, and expanding economic cooperation. This visit to Turkmenistan is of significant importance as one of Mirziyoyev's diplomatic trips in the region.
Through this visit, the traditional friendship and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan are expected to be further strengthened (source: President's press service).
