Developing the field of artificial intelligence in Uzbekistan depends not only on technology and infrastructure but also on training qualified personnel. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized this during a video conference meeting held on October 21. According to him, the foundation of artificial intelligence lies in the subjects of mathematics and computer science.
Therefore, the process of training specialists must begin at the school level. Starting from the next academic year, topics on artificial intelligence will be included in the computer science textbooks.
In this regard, new generation textbooks are being developed in cooperation with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Additionally, at the “New Uzbekistan” University, 100 trainer-teachers in artificial intelligence will be trained this year, and 1,300 next year.
These specialists will be responsible for training computer science teachers in schools and higher education institutions. Every year, the top 100 computer science teachers will be sent to advanced countries in the field of artificial intelligence for professional development.
They will be selected from leading personnel of ministries and regional administrations. Moreover, as a logical continuation of the “One Million Uzbek Developers” initiative, the “One Million Artificial Intelligence Leaders” program has been launched.
This year, up to 100,000 young people, and next year up to 500,000, will study the basics of artificial intelligence. The young people and their teachers who achieve the highest results will be rewarded.
Five hundred young people actively involved in the education sector will receive laptops, 100 teachers will be awarded prizes worth one thousand dollars, and two educational institutions will be presented with electric cars. President Mirziyoyev emphasized that developing artificial intelligence determines the country's future.
Therefore, every teacher in this field must become a cornerstone of Uzbekistan’s intellectual development. Source: zamin.uz
