
Uzbekistan is strengthening its position as the fastest-growing market for international hotel chains in Central Asia. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
From 2020 to 2025, the number of hotel rooms belonging to international brands in the country increased by 272 percent. This figure represents the highest growth rate among other countries in the region.
This information is presented in the CMWP Uzbekistan study. By the end of 2025, 682 new branded hotel rooms were put into operation in Uzbekistan.
Among the significant openings of the year are Swissôtel Tashkent, Wyndham Garden Tashkent Airport, Rama Encore by Wyndham Zomin, and J.W. Marriott Hotel Tashkent.
In particular, J.W. Marriott Hotel Tashkent is notable as the country's second Luxury-level property.
By 2025, the number of rooms belonging to international hotel chains in Uzbekistan reached 4,473. Uzbekistan ranks second in Central Asia in terms of the number of international hotel rooms, following Kazakhstan.
However, in terms of growth rates, the country holds the first place. As of 2025, the total number of international chain hotel rooms in the region amounts to 12,743.
Of these, 57 percent are in Kazakhstan, and 35 percent are in Uzbekistan. While Uzbekistan's hotel stock nearly quadrupled in five years, Kazakhstan's figure increased by 52 percent.
According to forecasts, by the end of 2026, Uzbekistan will surpass Kazakhstan in the volume of international hotel rooms and take the first place in the region. This figure will exceed 8,000 rooms, while Kazakhstan is expected to have about 7,200 rooms.
Long-term growth is expected to be even higher. Between 2025 and 2030, Uzbekistan's international hotel stock will reach 10,311, adding 5,835 new rooms.
This represents a 130 percent increase. The country is becoming increasingly important for international hotel operators.
By 2030, Uzbekistan is expected to control 47 percent of the regional hotel stock and take a leading role in the future development of the industry.
