Uzbekistan became the leader in military power in Central Asia
Uzbekistan has improved its position in the military power index announced by the Global Firepower organization and has become the leader in Central Asia. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

In this ranking, 145 countries participated, and Uzbekistan took 53rd place. This result is the highest indicator for the country in the region.

This was reported by podrobno.uz. According to the 2026 data, Uzbekistan rose five places compared to last year, surpassing Kazakhstan, which ranked 58th.

The country's main advantage relies on its mobilization potential. Out of a population of 36.5 million, 16 million are considered fit for military service.

There are 120 thousand military personnel serving in the Uzbek army, most of whom operate in ground units. The technical equipment is also at a high level.

The Uzbek army has 470 tanks and 8,692 armored vehicles. Significant results are also observed in artillery: with 177 self-propelled artillery units, it ranks 23rd worldwide.

The air forces include 159 flying equipment, including 101 helicopters. Additionally, 34 attack helicopters have brought the country to 20th place in the global ranking.

Overall, Uzbekistan ranks first in military power in the Central Asian region. Among the other countries, Kazakhstan holds 58th place, Turkmenistan 78th, Tajikistan 100th, and Kyrgyzstan 109th.

These results clearly demonstrate the development of the country's military potential.
