How is the activity of bloggers regulated in Uzbekistan?
Currently, many are interested in the legal basis of the activities of bloggers, who have their place in the internet, social networks, and information environment in our country. In this regard, we will provide information about the legal aspects of blogging and the regulations in the existing legislation.

In Uzbekistan, there is currently no specific law directly regulating the activities of bloggers. They mainly operate within the framework of general legislation regulating the information sector and the internet system in the country.

In particular, there is a law “On Mass Media” that regulates the activities of the media in the country, and bloggers do not officially fall under the category of mass media. However, since bloggers disseminate information to a wide audience, in some cases, the responsibilities established for mass media may also be applied to them.

According to the law “On Information,” every person disseminating information on the internet, including bloggers, must only distribute information that is not contrary to the law, reliable, and verified. They must respect the privacy of other individuals in their activities and must not disseminate unsubstantiated or unverified information.

Additionally, the responsibilities, rights, and obligations of bloggers are also outlined in the regulations, guidelines, and manuals issued by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Agency for Information and Mass Communications.

Another important aspect is that if a blogger regularly earns income through their activities (from advertising, sponsorship, or other services), they are also obliged to pay taxes.

In conclusion, bloggers in Uzbekistan must conduct their activities based on legislative requirements and understand that they are responsible for any information disseminated to the public.
