The preparatory stage for school will be included in compulsory education

According to the new decree of the President, significant changes will be made in the preschool education system in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
From now on, a one-year preparatory stage for 6-year-old children will be introduced as the initial part of compulsory education. This preparatory stage will be implemented starting from the 2027–2028 academic year.
Children who successfully complete it will be issued an electronic certificate by the state. This document will also be recorded in the student's school certificate in the future.
Additionally, from 2026 to 2028, state kindergartens named "New Generation" are planned to be established across the country. These institutions will create special conditions for children to receive education in robotics, science, foreign languages, creative, and physical development areas.
It is planned to provide a modern play and learning environment for children. It is important to emphasize that the new system will be introduced gradually.
In the 2026–2027 academic year, the admission procedure will continue as before, meaning children will be admitted to the 1st grade at the age of 7. The implementation of the new system is aimed at improving the quality of education.
