Zelensky: Russia does not want to end the war

Zelenskiy: Russia is not interested in ending the war
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky once again accused Russia of not being interested in ending the war. He emphasized that Russian forces have launched hundreds of attacks on Ukrainian cities, which is a clear indication of their lack of intention to conclude the war.

“This week, over 1,020 attack drones, nearly 1,360 guided aerial bombs, and more than 10 missiles were sent to our cities. Those who want to end the war do not act this way,” Zelensky wrote on social media.

The Ukrainian president called on the international community to exert joint pressure on Russia and stressed the need to strengthen new sanctions measures.

“Every person who desires peace in Ukraine, Europe, America, and around the world – we can ensure a just and lasting peace together,” Zelensky said.

Is the Kremlin deliberately delaying peace negotiations?

Three days ago, Zelensky accused Russia of deliberately prolonging the peace agreement proposed by the US initiative.

“Unfortunately, we have not received any meaningful response from Russia since the meeting in Jeddah. This once again confirms that Russia is striving to continue the war,” he said on March 13.

Additionally, Zelensky expressed hope that US pressure on Russia would be sufficient to end the war.

The European Union will continue to supply weapons to Ukraine

The European Union has no intention of stopping arms deliveries to Ukraine even during the temporary ceasefire.

On March 14, a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council took place in Brussels. Several diplomats stated that military assistance should continue to ensure that Ukraine enters peace negotiations from the strongest position.

“If an aggressive state (Russia) demands a ceasefire, I do not think we will stop supplying weapons to Kyiv,” said one of the European diplomats participating in the briefing in Brussels.

Another diplomat also emphasized that Ukraine should not allow any military weakness during the negotiation process.

Ukraine and the international community are stressing the need to increase pressure on Russia to force it to stop the war. The European Union is planning to continue military assistance to Kyiv. However, since the Kremlin has not officially responded to the peace negotiations, it remains difficult to make a clear prediction about the end of the war.
