Youth in Nepal staged large-scale protests against corruption, leading to the government's resignation within 48 hours. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
During the protests, more than seventy people died, hundreds were injured, and significant damage was caused to both state and private property. Although the demonstrations were initially peaceful, they later turned into unrest, with the parliament building, prime minister's office, and major hotels set on fire.
The ban on social media and the lavish lifestyles of politicians' children became one of the main reasons for the youth protests. As the situation got out of control, the government deployed the army and declared a curfew.
Subsequently, former Chief Justice Sushila Karki was appointed as the interim prime minister. She is expected to lead the country until the elections.
Experts consider these events one of the most significant turning points in Nepalese politics. While the youth have expressed that they will no longer remain silent and will continue to fight against injustice, concerns remain regarding the substantial material damage and future stability.
