The President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, announced an important update for employees working in the education and healthcare sectors in the country. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to him, starting from April 1, 2026, the salaries of teachers and doctors will be doubled. The president announced this decision at the People's Kurultai held on December 25.
According to the president, the role of teachers and doctors in society is very important. They nurture the future of the nation and protect people's health.
At the same time, he emphasized that today there are significant problems such as disrespect, rude behavior, and violence towards professionals in these fields. Japarov described such incidents as a high form of incivility and noted the necessity to restore the prestige and respect of these professions.
Currently, the average salary of teachers in Kyrgyzstan is 26,000 soms (approximately 3.5 million UZS). Starting from April 2026, this amount will reach 52,000 soms (7 million UZS).
The salary amount is determined based on the teacher's experience, qualification level, and other indicators. For example, a newly hired teacher at a city school earns a monthly salary of 36,800 soms (approximately 5 million UZS), and after taxes, receives 31,200 soms (4.2 million UZS).
The average salary of doctors currently is 31,500 soms (approximately 4.3 million UZS). From April 2026, this sum will increase to 62,500 soms (8.6 million UZS).
After tax deductions, doctors will earn an average of 50,000 soms (6.9 million UZS). In remote areas, highly qualified doctors with 30 years of experience can earn a monthly salary of 91,700 soms (12.6 million UZS).
After taxes, this figure amounts to 75,700 soms (10.4 million UZS). Additionally, starting from April 1, 2026, an extra presidential compensation of 5,000 soms (680,000 UZS) per position is planned to be introduced.
This decision is expected to enhance the social status of employees working in the education and healthcare sectors.
