Bashar Assad's negligence deepened the Syrian crisis

New information has emerged about the negligence of former Syrian President Bashar Assad towards his duties during the period when his regime was on the verge of collapse. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to The Atlantic magazine, while cities were gradually falling into the hands of rebels and the situation in the country was worsening, Assad spent time playing games on his phone. Journalist Robert F.
Worth wrote that those around the president were astonished by his behavior. Even though close advisers and foreign countries had offered assistance, Assad was in no hurry to make responsible decisions.
At that time, Russia, Turkey, and Iran offered various forms of support to back the Assad regime, but Assad did not respond to them. Instead of controlling the increasingly difficult situation in the country, he withdrew and became absorbed in games.
This further weakened the governance of the state. In December 2024, the rebels announced that they had captured Damascus and taken power into their own hands.
Bashar Assad left the country with his family and headed to Moscow. Russia provided him with asylum, and the Kremlin stated that this decision was made "from a humanitarian perspective."
Experts believe that Assad's indecisiveness and negligence not only undermined his rule but also disrupted the entire state system. This situation became a painful lesson for Syria.
The main goal now is to ensure peace and improve the lives of the population in this new phase. History shows that sometimes it is not tanks but the silence of a leader that can defeat a state.
