Iran indicated the possibility of closing the Hormuz Strait

The Iranian government announced the possibility of closing the Hormuz Strait. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This statement indicates that relations between the US and Iran are becoming more tense. Jalal Dehghani Firouzabadi, Secretary of Iran's Strategic Council on International Relations, emphasized that if a war occurs in the region, energy security will be seriously threatened and could lead to the closure of the Hormuz Strait.
According to him, if the strait is closed, China will be the first to suffer, as this will cause a sharp rise in global oil prices. This situation may force China to take firm measures against the war.
Because the Hormuz Strait is considered one of the world's most important oil transit routes. It was also reported that the US recently recommended increasing precautionary measures regarding ship movements in the strait.
Although this is currently only a warning, such statements immediately resonate in markets, insurance systems, and the logistics sector. As a result, this issue may also affect the global economic mood.
The main question in the coming weeks is whether the parties will ease tensions or escalate them further. If a diplomatic approach prevails, pressure around the Hormuz Strait may decrease.
Otherwise, especially towards the end of the winter season, the situation in energy markets will become more complicated.
