Security in Europe and Ukraine discussed in Munich

On February 13, 2023, an important political meeting took place within the framework of the security conference held in Munich. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy participated in a dialogue called the "Berlin format" with European country leaders and NATO representatives. During the meeting, they exchanged views on the current situation, security issues, and continuing support for Ukraine.
Politicians such as Friedrich Merz, Keir Starmer, and Mark Rutte were noted to have attended the event. The main topic of the meeting was ensuring European security against the backdrop of the Russian invasion.
The parties focused on strengthening security guarantees, ensuring uninterrupted aid delivery to Ukraine, and coordinating future steps. It was also announced that a joint drone production project between Ukraine and Germany is being implemented within the Berlin format.
Zelenskyy received the first ready-to-use strike drone from Germany, demonstrating that technological cooperation between Europe and Ukraine is actively functioning. Further negotiations involving representatives from Russia, Ukraine, and the USA are planned to be held in Geneva on February 17–18.
Although previous meetings did not yield the expected results, this time the parties are preparing for dialogue with clearer positions. European countries, particularly French President Emmanuel Macron, are intensifying diplomatic efforts to resume dialogue with Moscow.
However, there is no full agreement among European countries regarding future strategies. The 62nd Munich Security Conference is taking place from February 13 to 15.
It is attended by over 1,000 participants from more than 115 countries worldwide. These meetings may bring security issues and military-industrial cooperation to a new level.
In conclusion, the negotiations in Munich serve as an important preparatory stage for the upcoming meetings in Geneva.
