New Head Appointed to the Ministry of Security of Turkmenistan

Another significant change has taken place in the national security system of Turkmenistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The country's president, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, dismissed Nazar Atagarayev from the position of Minister of National Security. This decision was made at a meeting of the State Security Council.
According to official information, Nazar Atagarayev left his position due to "transitioning to another job." This is a standard official phrase indicating not the termination of the minister's activity, but a change in his direction.
Major Dovletgeldi Meredov was appointed as the new head of the Ministry of National Security. He is known as a cadre who previously led the presidential security service and gained experience within the system.
Thus, the new minister is a leader formed within the security system, considered a specialist who is well acquainted with both practice and strategy. It should be recalled that the Ministry of National Security of Turkmenistan is regarded as the main body responsible for state security, combating terrorism, and controlling strategic sectors.
Therefore, such appointments are not merely ordinary personnel changes but are accepted as important decisions that define the priority directions within the country's power system. Additionally, changes are also being observed in the security systems of other countries in the region.
For example, on February 10, the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, issued a decree dismissing the Chairman of the State Committee for National Security, Kamchybek Tashiev, and his deputies. Such changes indicate a shift to new priority directions in the security systems of the region.
In short, changes in security systems continue across the region. This may have a significant impact on future decisions and the rules of state governance.
While stability and systematization are important in politics, the process of change is ongoing.
