Japarov: Tashiyev will not return to public service

Kyrgyzstan President Sadir Japarov firmly emphasized that the former head of the country's State Committee for National Security, Kamchibek Tashiyev, will not return to public service. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
He stated this in an interview with a local news agency. According to the president, state positions and personal relationships are separate matters; the friendship with Tashiyev will be maintained, but there are no plans to reinstate him in public service.
Japarov said that he advised Tashiyev to pay attention to his health and live a peaceful life. Additionally, the president pointed to the covert activities of some groups, stating that such actions will not be tolerated and that investigative authorities will regulate the situation.
During the conversation, a journalist raised the question of whether the fight against crime and corruption would weaken after the departure of the former head. In response, Japarov stated that there is no organized crime in the country and that such groups will not be reformed.
In his opinion, the Kyrgyz government since 2020 has taken a firm stance against crime and has not made any compromises with criminal groups. Speaking about corruption, the president acknowledged that completely eradicating the problem is difficult, but constant efforts are being made to reduce its level.
He emphasized that the fight against the economic, political, and other forms of corruption will continue. According to Japarov, although faster results have been achieved in combating crime, overcoming corruption will take a long time.
Nevertheless, work in this area will continue consistently. The president also noted that law enforcement agencies have been instructed that the fight against crime and corruption must be conducted professionally and without publicity.
In conclusion, Japarov stressed that the issue of returning to public office is closed, and the main focus is on maintaining order and preventing crime.
