Last week, world politicians made another attempt to end the war in Ukraine. And once again, the "peacemakers" led by Trump realized that ending the war was not in their hands, but in the hands of another person. That person does not want to end the war. Below, we will focus on the latest events surrounding this person.
"Putin considers himself a winner"
According to reliable sources cited by the American Wall Street Journal, after a phone conversation with Putin, US President Trump understood that the Russian president does not want to end the war. Trump mentioned this during a conversation with European leaders.
The newspaper reported that Trump told the Europeans that Putin already considers himself a winner and is not thinking about ending the war. European leaders heard this conclusion, which they had realized much earlier, for the first time from Trump.
Bloomberg sources provided different information. According to them, Trump told European leaders that he "believes in Putin's victory in the war." Europeans were surprised by such a peculiar agreement between Trump and Putin.
Putin will go to Donbass
According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, Putin will later visit the "Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics," which Russia has annexed during the war. Peskov made this statement in response to a question during a briefing held after Putin's visit to Kursk, but in a wartime Russia, such questions do not arise without reason.
The fact that Putin's visit to Donbass is being discussed these days is not accidental. The Kremlin likes to speak in such hints. With this move, they seem to be saying, you keep talking about ending the war, our "commander-in-chief" is going to "our new territories" in Donbass. In Russia, the occupied territories of Ukraine are referred to as "new territories."
Putin's visit to Donbass is not new. Shortly after Mariupol was captured, he visited this city in Donetsk and met with people. However, he has not yet made a working visit to the occupied territories of Ukraine like he has to Russian regions.
Putin visited Kursk
The rumors about Vladimir Vladimirovich going to Donbass did not spread without reason. On May 20, Mr. Putin visited Kursk. This time, he did not limit himself to visiting the operational headquarters in military uniform, but made a full working visit, as he did to other regions of Russia. He got acquainted with the construction of the Kursk AES-2. Then he met with the temporary governor of the region, Khinshtein. In short, he told the Russians that everything is calm in Kursk, do not worry. The purpose of the visit to Donbass will also be this.
We will continue to closely monitor the developments, especially each trip of Vladimir Vladimirovich. If there is any event that needs attention, we will certainly inform you. To not miss the most important news, subscribe to the pages of Kun.uz.
