
Starting from August 1, 2024, new amounts of fines for violating traffic rules will come into effect in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Upl.uz.
These changes are related to the increase in the basic calculation value (BCV), which is used to calculate taxes, fees, duties, as well as fines and payments for state services. The new value will reach 412 thousand soums, which is almost 10 percent more than the previous 375 thousand soums.
As a result, fines for administrative offenses will also increase. Accordingly, from August 1, the following fines will be applicable.
The fine for not wearing a seatbelt, lacking a first aid kit, a light vest, a fire extinguisher, or an emergency stop sign, and for not passing a technical inspection will now amount to 206 thousand soums. The same fine is set for not adhering to road signs or moving in pedestrian lanes.
Driving a vehicle without the relevant documents or valid insurance will incur a fine of 412 thousand soums. The fine for passing through a red traffic light or talking on the phone while driving will increase to 1 million 236 thousand soums.
The fine for stopping in the wrong place will be 824 thousand soums, while driving without state registration plates will be penalized with a fine of 2 million 60 thousand soums. Entering the opposite lane will require a fine of 4 million 120 thousand soums.
Driving under the influence of alcohol and refusing a medical examination will result in a fine of 6 million 180 thousand soums and a suspension of the driver's license for up to three years. The fine for driving under the influence of alcohol is set at 10 million 300 thousand soums, along with a suspension of driving rights for up to three years.
A fine of 10 million 300 thousand soums will also be imposed for driving vehicles with tinted windows without permission, and those who violate this rule again within a year will face a fine of 8 million 240 thousand soums. Additionally, the increase in BCV will also affect fines for speeding.
Exceeding the speed limit by up to 20 km/h will incur a fine of 412 thousand soums, exceeding by 20 to 40 km/h will result in a fine of 2 million 60 thousand soums, and exceeding the speed limit by more than 40 km/h will lead to a fine of 3 million 708 thousand soums. The last increase in BCV occurred on October 1, 2024, when it rose from 340 thousand soums to 375 thousand soums.
Now the new value has been set at 412 thousand soums. These changes aim to ensure road traffic safety and prevent violations of the law.
